The Wizard of Oz or, the genius behind the Harry Potter phenomenon is J.K. Rowlings.The attraction is based on her series of seven Harry Potter books. Her books (in 60 languages) have sold about 400 million copies. The resulting movies have grossed more than $5 billion.
While Rowlings wrote her first book, “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone” in 1997, Orlando’s magic dates back to 1971.That’s when Disney opened Disney World Resort and the Magic Kingdom.
